New York City: Primates of Russian Church Abroad to be prayerfully commemorated on Eve of Kursk Root Icon’s Feast Day

To mark the 50th anniversary of the repose of Metropolitan Anastassy (Gribanovsky) and the 30th anniversary of the repose of Metropolitan Philaret (Voznesensky), both of blessed memory, a panihida will be served in the Synodal Cathedral of Sign in New York City on December 9, the eve of the feast day of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. Participating will be the members of the Synod of Bishops and the cathedral clergy and choir. Afterwards, the All-Night Vigil will commence for the patronal feast day of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign.

The next morning, the greeting of His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, will be at 9:30 AM, followed by the festal Divine Liturgy.

The clergy and faithful of the parishes and monasteries of the East Coast are invited to participate in the celebrations and delve into the history and legacy of the Russian Church Abroad, remember the late First Hierarchs, and consider the significance of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God for the faithful children of the Russian Church, who serve her here abroad.
