Howell, NJ: An Announcement from the Diocesan Office
Friday,
September 4, marks the 33rd anniversary of the repose of the
ever-memorable Archbishop Nikon (Rklitsky), once Archbishop of
Washington and Florida. In connection with this anniversary, a
panihida will take place at St.
Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ, in the lower
church of the Protection of the Mother of God, where Archbishops
Vitaly (Maximenko) and Nikon repose. The panihida will be served by
His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of New York and Eastern America,
First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, co-served by
Bishops George and Jerome, as well as diocesan clergy. After the
panihida, a regular meeting of the Diocesan Council will be held. We
invite all clergy and laity to come and pray at the grave of one of
the greatest archpastors of our diocese and the Church Abroad.
We
ask that clergy bring blue vestments with them. The panihida will
begin at 9:30 AM.
