Northville, NY -
The Opening of SGPA Summer Camp, Druzhina “Tsarskoe Selo”
On Sunday,
June 28, in the hills of upstate New York, the summer camp of St.
George Pathfinders of America, “Tsarskoe Selo” Druzhina (chapter),
opened. The camp is attended by over 120 boys and girls (8 to 18 years
of age), who spend the entire month of July in the woods, sleeping in
tents and swimming in nearby Lake Sacandaga. The principal goal of the
organization, however, is the extracurricular upbringing of children
in an Orthodox, Russian-speaking, brotherly atmosphere. On Sunday, the
Druzhina’s spiritual father, Archpriest Serge Lukianov, served a
Divine Liturgy in the camp’s St. George chapel. Following the
Liturgy, Fr. Serge blessed all of the sub-camps.
