Albany, NY: Parish Feast Day of the Nativity of the Theotokos
Church
On
the forefeast of the Nativity of the Mother of God (September 7/20),
His Grace, Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, officiated at the divine
services in the Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos in Albany,
NY, on the occasion of the parish feast day. During the All-Night
Vigil, His Grace was co-served by the rector, Mitred Archpriest
Wsewolod Drobot, Priest Michael Fritz (cleric of the parish), Priest
Brendan Crowley (Springfield, MA), Deacon Michael Soloviev (cleric of
the parish), Deacon Dimitri Temidis, and Deacon Andrei Rudenko (Jordanville,
NY). On Sunday, His Grace led the Divine Liturgy, co-served by the
aforementioned clergy, along with Priest Alexis Pjawka (Jordanville),
Protodeaon Nicholas Drobot (Norwich, CT), and Protodeacon Alexander
Jarostchuk (Boston, MA), in the presence of a multitude of the
faithful from the Northeast. Mitred Archpriest Boris Kizenko (Jackson,
NJ) was also present during the services. During the Little Entrance,
Priest Michael Fritz was elevated to the rank of Archpriest and Deacon
Michael Soloviev was awarded the double orarion. The choir,
under the direction of Natasha Schuler, adorned the services with
beautiful singing. Bishop Jerome expressed his gratitude to the parish
for such a warm reception and for the opportunity to pray in the newly
constructed church. In return, the rector, Fr. Wsewolod, thanked
Vladyka for his archpastoral visit, and invited everyone to the Great
Consecration of the church, which will take place, God willing, on
Labor Day Monday the following year (September 6, 2010).
