Millville, NJ: Bishop Jerome celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Church

On Thursday, December 3, the day of remembrance of the holy priest-martyr St. Vladimir (Medveduk), His Grace Jerome, Bishop of Manhattan, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Church in Millville, NJ. His Grace was co-served by Mitred Archpriest Mark Shinn (rector of St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Philadelphia, PA), Archpriest Philip Petrovsky (rector of the Holy Protection English Mission, Jackson, NJ), Archpriest Liubo Milosevich (rector of Holy Trinity Church, Vineland, NJ), diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, parish rector Priest Nikolai Manduke, Deacon Dimitri Temidis, and parish deacon Jonathon Yerkes. Fr. Nikolai Manduke is the grandson of the brother of Priest-Martyr Archpriest Vladimir, who was shot by the Communists in Butovo on December 3rd, 1937. It is for this reason that St. Vladimir is so deeply revered by the parishioners of St. Nicholas Church, and is, in a way, their second heavenly patron. Recalling the pious life and violent murder of this priest-martyr, the parishioners followed in his example, all coming forward together to partake of the Divine Mysteries. Upon completion of the Liturgy, a bountiful luncheon was served for parishioners and guests, and all present were surprised and heartened by the warm, sunny December day.
