The Head of St. John Chrysostom to be brought from Moscow’s Christ the Savior Cathedral to the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign

The Office of Communications of ROCOR’s Synod of Bishops has announced that, "With the blessing of His Holiness, Patriarch Kyrill of Moscow and All Russia, the holy head of the universal teacher and great hierarch St. John Chrysostom, will be brought from Moscow’s Christ the Savior Cathedral to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign at the Synod of Bishops in New York, NY, on February 6, 2010.

Clergymen of the Russian Orthodox Church and other Local Churches who wish to perform prayer services before St. John’s relic with their choirs should contact the Senior Priest of the Synodal Cathedral, Archpriest Andrei Sommer, at rev.a.sommer@synod.com."

A detailed schedule of services and events relating to the relic’s visit is forthcoming on the Synodal website and on the diocesan website. This is a wonderful opportunity for the faithful of our diocese to lift up their prayers before one of the greatest saints of the Orthodox Church.
