hmwc.lg.jpg (42173 bytes)The Holy Myrrhbearers Diocesan Women’s Choir, under director Eugenia Temidis, is moving forward with preparations for its 13 year old tradition of singing the Choir’s approaching paschal patronal feast of the Holy Myrrhbearing Women (April 17-18, 2010). The Women’s Choir regularly sings by invitation at various parishes of our Diocese, and this year, by blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion , the group will sing All-Night Vigil at the Synodal Cathedral of the Mother of God of the Sign (April 17), and hierarchal Divine Liturgy at the Nativity of the Mother of God Church at the New Kursk-Root Hermitage in Mahopac, NY (April 18). Both services will be presided over by His Grace Bishop Jerome of Manhattan.

At present, the Holy Myrrhbearers Women’s Choir (HMWC) boasts 16 regular members from 6 different parishes of our Diocese, as well as from 3 Orthodox parishes of other jurisdictions. As in years past, the HMWC traditionally invites guest singers to join them in singing their namesday feast. Interested female singers should contact the Choir director either by email director@womenschoir.org or by phone 845-406-1194.

The growing congregation in Mahopac has been working tirelessly for many months on the rebuilding, restoration and renewal of their beloved church and some of the buildings found on the grounds of the Hermitage.
