Jackson, NJ: Bishop Jerome celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Vladimir Memorial Church

On Wednesday, July 28, His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan Vicar Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Vladimir Memorial Church on the occasion of the church’s patronal feast day. His Grace was co-served with Archimandrite Ioann (Magramm; cleric of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign), Archpriest Philip Petrovsky (rector of Holy Virgin Protection English Mission in Jackson), Archpriest George Kallaur (rector of the Church of the Mother of God "Unexpected Joy"), Archpriest Paul Volmensky (rector of Holy Ascension Church in Sacramento, CA), Priest Nikolai Manduke (rector of St. Nicholas Church in Millville, NJ), Priest Seraphim Chemodakov (cleric of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Lakewood, NJ), St. Vladimir Memorial Church deputy rector Priest Serge Ledkovsky, Priest Jonah Campbell (cleric of St. George’s Church in Howell, NJ), Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis (cleric of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY), Deacon Ivan Voloshchuk, and parish deacons Alexander Smida and Paul Drozdowski.

In his sermon, Bishop Jerome emphasized the responsibility of every Christian to spread and bear witness to the Orthodox faith among heterodox peoples, as the holy Grand Prince, Equal-of-the-Apostles, did in his time. Indeed, as we heard in the prayer to St. Vladimir, through him "We knew the Lord and destroyed the adulation of idols, for by his command throughout our land Christ is glorified."

Upon completion of the Liturgy, a procession was held around the memorial church; after the service, a luncheon was held in the parish hall for all those who came to celebrate this momentous feast.
