Simpson, PA: The Port Arthur Icon of the Mother of God visited St. Basil’s Church

With the blessing of His Grace George, Bishop of Mayfield, the widely venerated copy of the Port Arthur Icon of the Mother of God is traveling to the various parishes of Pennsylvania. The Icon is traditionally kept in the main church of Holy Cross Monastery, and was brought to St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Mayfield for the patronal feast day. On Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th of July, the Port Arthur Icon visited St. Basil’s Church in Simpson, PA. The divine services were led by parish rector Archpriest David Hritcko. We offer our readers photographs below of the Icon’s visit to Simpson.
