Glen Cove, NY: Parish school students from Intercession of the Holy Virgin Church went on a pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery

On Saturday the 2nd and Sunday 3rd of April, the graduating class of the parish school of the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin in Glen Cove, NY went on a pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY.

The students, aged 11 to 15, were accompanied by school principal and parish rector Priest Alexandre Antchoutine, and administrator Natalia Fekula. They were greeted by Hieromonk Cyprian (Alexandrou), the Dean of Students of Holy Trinity Seminary, and given a tour by third-year seminarian Anthony Williams, who showed them the upper and lower churches, the belfry, which the students loved, the baptismal, the iconography studio, the seminary building and classes, and the cemetery. That evening, the students went to confession and partook of Holy Communion at Divine Liturgy the following morning. Lunch was served to the boys in the monastery refectory, where the seminarians eat, while the girls were served in an adjacent room. At the end of their trip, the students expressed their hope to make this a yearly pilgrimage and interest more students in this spiritual realm.
