Brooklyn, NY: Association of Orthodox Christian Businessmen & Professionals opens with the blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion

 

With the blessing of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, the Association of Orthodox Christian Businessmen & Professionals was founded in Brooklyn, NY. The principal goals of the Association include providing legal and medical assistance by Orthodox businessmen, lawyers, and medical professionals to those in need (both Orthodox and not) and establishing contacts between Orthodox employers and job-seekers.

 

On Monday, August 15, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, accompanied by diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, visited the Association’s administrative offices in Brooklyn and blessed the new offices.

 

Also present at the Associations inauguration were Archpriest Victor Tseshkovsky (rector of Holy New Martyrs & Confessors of Russia Church in Brooklyn, NY), Archpriest Wiaczeslaw Krawczuk (rector of the OCA Cathedral of the Transfiguration in Brooklyn), Archpriest George Konyev  (rector of Three Saints MP Church in Garfield, NJ), Priest Vadim Arefiev (rector of the Church of Our Lady the "Inexhaustible Chalice" in Brooklyn), Prince V.K. Galitzine, and Association administrators and employees.

 

After the blessing of the office, a meeting was held between Metropolitan Hilarion, the clergy, and Association President I.K. Popov. Fr. Vadim presented a slideshow for His Eminence and the distinguished guests explaining the Association’s goals and proposed operations and services. Metropolitan Hilarion expressed his deep satisfaction with the Association’s goals, and called down God’s grace on those undertaking this good work. Upon completion of the presentation, a bountiful lenten luncheon was offered.
