Jackson, NJ: The First Anniversary of Archpriest Boris Kizenko’s repose was marked at St. Vladimir Memorial Church

On Saturday, August 27, on the eve of the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, the first anniversary of the repose of one of the senior clerics of the Eastern American Diocese and a longtime cleric of St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ, Archpriest Boris Kizenko, was prayerfully commemorated at the memorial church.

A Liturgy for the Departed was celebrated by diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, co-served by deputy rector Priest Serge Ledkovsky, Priest Constantine Semyanko (cleric of the Church of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple in Stratford, CT), and parish Deacon Paul Drozdowski. In connection with the approaching hurricane and attending inclement weather, special petitions were intoned and kneeling prayers read during the Liturgy for deliverance from natural disasters.

After the Liturgy, Fr. Serge offered Matushka Tamara and members of the Kizenko family sincerest condolences on the first anniversary Fr. Boris’ repose, on behalf of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, and the members of the Diocesan Council. A panihida was then served at the grave of Fr. Boris at St. Vladimir Cemetery, led by New Jersey Dean Protopresbyter Valery Lukianov, co-served by the above-mentioned clergy. After the panihida, the dean delivered a short eulogy on the pious and hardworking life lived by the ever-memorable Fr. Boris.

Memory and rest eternal to Archpriest Boris – a dedicated and faithful laborer in Christ’s vineyard!
