San Francisco, CA: Bishop George took part in the feast of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco

On Friday, July 1, His Grace George, Bishop of Mayfield, arrived at the Cathedral of Our Lady, Joy of All Who Sorrow, in San Francisco, CA, at the invitation of Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco & Western America, in order to take part in the feast of St. John, Archbishop of Shanghai and San Francisco.

On Friday evening, Bishop George concelebrated the All-Night Vigil with the ruling hierarch of the Western American Diocese, His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill. On Saturday morning, July 2nd, His Grace Bishop George was greeted at the cathedral and then vested on the kathedra. The Divine Liturgy was led by Archbishop Kyrill, co-served by Bishop George and a multitude of clergy. The relics of St. John were brought out into the middle of the marvelous cathedral, and the divine services were held in the presence of the relics and a multitude of pilgrims from all over the world.

His Grace Bishop George gave a sermon at the end of the Liturgy and then the archpastors, pastors, and faithful performed a procession with a moleben to St. John.
