Russian Icons ‒ Sacred Windows to the Legacy of the Orthodox Church: A Public Art Exhibition and Synod Store Grand Opening

The Synod of Bishops of the Russian Church Abroad is proud to announce a unique four-day exhibit, featuring sacred Orthodox icons from America’s premier private collections.

An exquisite icon exhibit and store grand-opening will be held for the general public from September 27-30 at the historic Baker Mansion, belonging to the Russian Church Abroad and located in Manhattan on the corner of 93rd Street and Park Avenue.

The exhibit will occur simultaneously with the grand opening of the "Synod Store ‒ Purveyors of Fine Art & Antiquities." At the store, connoisseurs and collectors of antiques and sacred art will be able to obtain authenticated antique icons and other Orthodox artifacts. The grand opening will be preceded by a cocktail reception and classical piano recital, followed by a brief keynote speech by the organizers.

The exhibit opening will take place on Thursday, September 27, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and will include an address by His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad.
