Howell, NJ: Statement from the Diocesan Office regarding the health
of Metropolitan Hilarion
In
a brief statement released on April 5th, His Eminence, Metropolitan
Hilarion, thanked the clergy and faithful of the Eastern American
Diocese for their prayers and letters of support during his
post-operative recovery. The Metropolitan successfully underwent
knee replacement surgery in Australia on February 20. His Eminence
has already been able to serve in Australia, but will be expected to
experience some pain for several weeks as he continues physical
therapy.
We ask the clergy and faithful of the Eastern American Diocese to
continue praying for the health of Metropolitan Hilarion in their
private prayers. However, the special petitions for His Eminence
during the Augmented Litany should no longer be said.
Because of both health and visa issues, the Metropolitan will remain
in Australia for the Great Feast of Pascha and will return to the
Eastern American Diocese shortly thereafter. Further information
will be published as it becomes available.
