Boston, MA: Metropolitan Hilarion led the Divine Services in Holy Epiphany Church

On Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd of January, on the Sunday after the Epiphany, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, paid an archpastoral visit to Boston, MA, and led the divine services in Holy Epiphany Church.

Parishioners of Holy Epiphany Church were granted a great joy – over the course of the whole week, the Protectress of the Russian Diaspora ‒ the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God ‒ visited Boston, accompanied by its guardian, Protodeacon Nicholas Olhovsky. The wonderworking Icon was present at all of the divine services, and between services visited the homes of parishioners and patients in the hospital.

On Sunday morning, His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy, co-served by parish clerics and local clergymen. During the Small Entrance, the First Hierarch bestowed awards on two parish clerics: Priest Thomas Reske was awarded the gold cross, and Protodeacon Alexander Jarostchuk was awarded the kamilavka. Upon completion of the Liturgy, a festal luncheon was held in the parish hall of the local St. Nektarios Greek Cathedral.
