Clearwater, FL: Archpriest Laurence Girard has reposed in the Lord

On Friday morning, January 13, Archpriest Laurence Girard, a cleric of the Eastern American Diocese, peacefully passed away. He was 72 years old. Fr. Girard was the former rector and cleric of Holy Elders of Optina Church in Winter Garden, FL.

Archpriest Laurence Girard was born on July 14, 1939, in Buffalo, NY. In 1964, he married Marina McConeghy. For his selfless and dedicated service to Christ’s Holy Church, Fr. Laurence was awarded the miter on December 22 of last year.

We ask all the clerics and faithful children of the Eastern American Diocese to pray for the repose of the newly departed Archpriest Laurence.

Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Monastery.
