Jordanville: Metropolitan Hilarion celebrated his Namesday in Holy
Trinity Monastery
On
Saturday, November 3, the feast day of St. Hilarion of the Caves,
the namesday of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His
Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, was
celebrated in the main cathedral of Holy Trinity Monastery in
Jordanville, NY. The Metropolitan celebrated the Divine Liturgy,
co-served by monastery clergy.
Owing to damage caused by Hurricane Sandy to the Diocese, access to
and movement in New York City has become very difficult. In light of
this, His Eminence, cancelled his proposed namesday celebrations at
the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign.
After the Liturgy,
a luncheon was offered in the monastery refectory, after which
monastery abbot Archimandrite Luke (Murianka) invited the
Metropolitan, clergy, and guests to a reception in his office in
honor of the First Hierarch’s namesday.
The editors of the
official site of the Eastern American Diocese sincerely congratulate
our dear Metropolitan on the occasion of his namesday. Many years to
His Eminence!
