Sea Cliff, NY: Work Continues on Iconography in the Memorial Church to the Re-Establishment of Unity in the Russian Church

Work continues on iconography in St. Seraphim Memorial Church to the Re-Establishment of Unity in the Russian Church. The frescoes are dedicated to the Millennial Path of the Russian Orthodox Church, culminating in the restoration within Her of full brotherly communion.

Priest Paul Akmolin (cleric of the Mid-American Diocese) completed images of the Baptism of Russia and six saints – the first heavenly intercessors of the Russian land. God willing, Fr. Paul will return to Sea Cliff in the second half of October, in order to glue the icons to the walls of the church’s narthex. Depicted in the icon of Russia’s Baptism, in addition to the Holy Equal-of-the-Apostles St. Vladimir, are depicted the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called (in honor of the departed Andrei Gevorgian), St. Elizabeth, Wonderworker of Constantinople (in honor of the departed Elizabeth Olhovsky), the Equals-of-the-Apostles Sts. Cyril & Methodius, the first Russian martyrs Sts. Theodore and John, Venerable Nestor, and others.

Parishioners will be grateful for any support, both in prayer and financial. Donations can be made through PayPal on the parish website: www.stseraphimschurch.org.
