Jackson, NJ: On the Eve of St. Olga’s Day, Metropolitan Hilarion led a Panihida for the reposed founders of St. Vladimir Memorial Church

On Tuesday, July 23, on the eve of the feast day of the Holy Grand Princess Olga, Equal-of-the-Apostles, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad visited St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ. The purpose of the Metropolitan’s visit is to lead the patronal feast day and Great Consecration of the lower St. Olga’s Church. Before the wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, led a panihida in the lower church for the church’s founders, headed by his predecessor, Metropolitan Laurus (Skurla), and Archbishops Vitaly (Maximenko) and Nikon (Rklitsky) – vicars of the Eastern American Diocese buried in the lower church.

His Eminence was co-served by diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, Archpriest Boris Slootsky (cleric of St. George’s Church in Howell, NJ), Hieromonk Alexander (Frizzell; dean of Holy Cross Monastery in Wayne, WV), the memorial church’s deputy rector Priest Serge Ledkovsky, parish Deacon Paul Drozdowski, Hierodeacon Tikhon (Gayfudinov; accompanying His Eminence), and Deacon Michael Wengrin (cleric of St. George’s Church). The All-Night Vigil was then served to the Dedication of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and the Holy Grand Princess Olga. Protodeacon Leonid Roschko (cleric of St. George’s Church) joined the clergy serving Vigil, while Deacon Alexander Petrovsky (cleric of the Middle American Diocese) directed the choir. Also praying in church was Archpriest Alexander Golubov (cleric of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York City), Priest Alexandre Antchoutine (rector of Holy Virgin Intercession Church in Glen Cove, NY), and Priest Nicholas Olhovsky (guardian of the Kursk Root Icon).
