Wayne, WV: Metropolitan Hilarion visited Holy Cross Monastery

On Tuesday, May 28, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, visited Holy Cross Monastery in Wayne, WV. His Eminence attended the early morning Divine Liturgy and greeted the brethren with the feast of St. Pachomius the Great, founder of cenobitic monasticism and model for all cenobitic monks.

After breakfast, monastery dean Hieromonk Alexander (Frizzell) conducted a working meeting with the Metropolitan to update him on events taking place in monastery life, including its liturgical life and construction. Fellow member of the Holy Cross Monastery Benevolent Committee George Rogatchev joined the meeting to update His Eminence on the work he is doing on its behalf. Later, the Metropolitan visited the goat barn and blessed the newly born goat kids before departing to the ringing of the monastery bells.
