Methuen, MA: St. Xenia’s Church will host a one-day Lenten Retreat

With the blessing of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, on Saturday, April 13, St. Xenia’s Church in Methuen, MA will hold a one-day Lenten retreat.

Attendees are invited to a lecture by Dr. Michael Legaspi, entitled: "What is the Purpose of Piety? Lenten Reflections on the Book of Job." Dr. Legaspi is a parishioner of St. Xenia’s who currently teaches at Phillips Academy Andover, and was one of the speakers at the recent Florovsky Symposium at Princeton University.

A question-and-answer session will be held at the end of the talk and, after lunch, panel or group discussions will follow.

The parish anticipates that Priest Kevin Kalish (rector of New Martyrs & Confessors of Russia Church in Norwich, CT), Priest Constantine Desrosiers (cleric of St. Xenia’s parish), and Robert Stauffer will join the discussions.

The retreat will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 3:00 PM.

Adults and upperclassmen are invited to participate. No admission fee will be charged, but the parish will gratefully accept donations to their Building Expansion Fund.
