Wayne, WV: Myrrh-Streaming Icon "Softener of Evil Hearts" visits Holy Cross Monastery

On Wednesday, April 2, Holy Cross Monastery in Wayne, WV was visited by the myrrh-streaming Icon of the Mother of God "Softener of Evil Hearts." The Icon was taken to the monastery church, where it remained for Matins with the Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete.

The following morning, monastery clergy – led by the abbot, His Grace George, Bishop of Mayfield ‒ served the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts. That afternoon, a moleben and akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos were served.

That evening, the Icon visited the local parish of Christ the Savior Church, where another moleben was served before the wonder-working image.

On Friday morning, after the regular Lenten services, the Icon departed for the Mid-American Diocese.
