Lenoir City, TN: Bishop George visits St. Nektarios Church in honor
of Patronal Feast Day

Friday the 21st to Sunday the 23rd of November, His Grace, Eastern
American Diocesan vicar Bishop George of Mayfield, performed an
archpastoral visit to St. Nektarios Church in Lenoir City, TN, where
he led the divine services in honor of the parish’s patronal feast
day.
On Friday evening, the very feast day of St. Nektarios, His Grace
served the festal All-Night Vigil, and on Saturday morning
celebrated the Divine Liturgy. At Liturgy on Saturday morning, all
of those present communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries, and Bishop
George delivered a sermon on the life of the Holy Hierarch
Nektarios, on the saint’s love for God and Christian virtue.
Vespers was served on Saturday evening, and Divine Liturgy
celebrated Sunday morning, at which His Grace delivered a sermon on
the Good Samaritan and the importance of exercising love for our
neighbor. At all of the services, Bishop George was co-served by
parish rector Priest Job Watts, Deacon Jeremiah Davis (cleric of
Holy Cross Monastery in Wayne, WV, accompanying His Grace), and
parish Deacon Aidan Griswold.
