Moscow: His Holiness Kyrill, Patriarch of Moscow & All Russia, meets
with Metropolitan Hilarion
On
Wednesday, July 30, a meeting was held at the Patriarchal Residence
in Danilov Monastery between His Holiness Kyrill, Patriarch of
Moscow & All Russia, and Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America &
New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad.
Also taking part in the meeting were: Metropolitan Hilarion of
Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for
External Church Relations (DECR); Archbishop Mark of Yegorievsk,
chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Finance & Economic
Administration and head of the Administration of the Moscow
Patriarchate’s Institutions Abroad; Archimandrite John (Roschin),
Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA; and Archpriest
Peter Holodny.
In the course of the meeting, His Holiness, Patriarch Kyrill,
proposed discussing the state of Orthodoxy in various countries
around the world, as well as developing plans for further
coordination of missionary work.
"The most important thing is for our joint efforts to aid the
development of Russian Orthodoxy in all of the nations where it
exists, taking into account the fact that, with every year, more and
more Russian people come to live outside of Russia," noted His
Holiness.
