Jordanville: Divine Services in Holy Trinity Monastery on Triumph of Orthodoxy led by Bishop Jerome

On Saturday, March 8, His Grace, Bishop Jerome, arrived at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY to lead the divine services on the feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy.

At all of the services, Bishop Jerome was co-served by monastery clergy. On Saturday evening, His Grace led the All-Night Vigil. The service was well-attended, with the faithful venerating the Holy Gospel and icons throughout the entire reading of the canon.

The Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Sunday morning. Bishop Jerome addressed the brethren and faithful with two sermons – in Russian, on death and the life brought by God, and on how important the precepts of our Faith are compared to the transitory things of this life; and in English, on the words spoken by the Savior to the Holy Apostle Nathanael, and on how Christ saw not only the outward appearance of His disciple, but his very heart, as well.

Upon completion of the Liturgy, the Rite of Orthodoxy was served. The anathemas were proclaimed by Protodeacon Joseph Jarostchuk (cleric of the neighboring Memorial Church of St. John of Kronstadt in Utica).

After the service, lunch was served in the monastery refectory.
