Mahopac, NY: Bishop Jerome leads Dormition services in New Kursk Root Hermitage

On Thursday the 27th and Friday the 28th of August, the great feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Grace, Bishop Jerome, led the festal divine services in the Nativity of the Mother of God Church at the New Kursk Root Hermitage in Mahopac, NY. He was co-served by parish cleric Deacon George Temidis.

Upon completion of the Divine Liturgy on Friday morning, His Grace addressed the faithful with a sermon, in which he touched on the words of the Savior, "Mary hath chosen that good part," and the significance of that Gospel reading for feast of the Theotokos.

Virtually all in church communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries. After the service, a festal luncheon was held.
