On Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th of December, His Grace Nicholas, Bishop of Manhattan, paid an archpastoral visit to St. Vladimir Church in Miami, FL. The vicar of the Eastern American Diocese accompanied the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God in her visitation to Florida, and the divine services were held under the aegis of the Protectress of the Russian Diaspora.

On Sunday morning, Bishop Nicholas celebrated the Divine Liturgy, co-served by parish rector Archpriest Daniel McKenzie, Priest Mykhailo Mykhailenko (parish cleric), Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis (cleric of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY, accompanying His Grace), Protodeacon Thomas Branch (parish cleric), and Deacon Alexander Doohovskoy (cleric of St. Xenia Church in Methuen, MA).

After the Eucharistic Canon, His Grace ordained Subdeacon Dimitry to the diaconate. The newly ordained Deacon Dimitry will fulfill his service at St. Vladimir Church.

Upon completion of the service, a bountiful luncheon was offered for the clergy and faithful in the parish hall, where words of congratulation were offered to the newly tonsured readers and ordained subdeacon and deacon.
