New York City: Bishop Nicholas performs Year’s First Presanctified
Liturgy in Synodal Cathedral
On
February 25, Wednesday of the First Week of Great Lent, His Grace,
Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, having
prayed first at Matins, Hours, and Typica, then performed the
Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts at the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign
in New York City.
His Grace was co-served by the cathedral’s senior priest, Archpriest
Andrei Sommer, Synodal Chancellor Archpriest Serafim Gan, and
cathedral clerics: Hieromonk Eutychius (Dovganyuk), Priest Igor
Grytsyna, Protodeacon Nicolas Mokhoff, and Deacon Dionysius Lvov.
Upon completion of the service, His Grace, thanked the clerics,
altar servers, and choir, and congratulated everyone on this first
Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts of the calendar year and wished for
all who participated in the blessed prayers many mercies as Great
Lent proceeds, and divine blessing for them to continue to travel
this path of peace, repentance, and mutual love.
