New York City: Bishop Nicholas leads Theophany Eve Services in
Synodal Cathedral
On
Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th of January, on the feast of
Theophany Eve, His Grace Nicholas, Bishop of Manhattan, led the
divine services in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York
City.
At the All-Night Vigil, His Grace was co-served by cathedral clergy:
senior priest Archpriest Andrei Sommer, Hieromonk Eutychius
(Dovganyuk), Hieromonk Zosimas (Krampis), Protodeacon Vadim Gan, and
Deacons Nazari Fataliev and Dionysius Lvov.
The following morning, Bishop Nicholas celebrated the Divine
Liturgy, at which the above-mentioned clergy were joined by
cathedral clerics Archpriest Petro Zgoba and Protodeacon Nicolas
Mokhoff. Upon conclusion of the Liturgy, His Grace greeted a newly
baptized boy, congratulating him and presenting him with an icon of
the Guardian Angel. Following Liturgy was the Great Vespers service
for Theophany Eve. The Great Vespers service for Theophany Eve then
began, and ended with the Great Blessing of the Water, and Bishop
Nicholas sprinkling all those present with holy water.
After the service, the faithful departed for a short while, eager to
return that evening for the festal All-Night Vigil.
