Fontamara, Haiti:
Patronal Feast of St. Moses the Black Parish
On
Thursday, September 10, the parish of Venerable Moses the Black (Раrоіsse
Saint Moïse le Noir) in Fontamara, Haiti
marked its patronal feast day. The services were led by parish
rector Priest Gregoire Legouté, co-served by clerics one of ROCOR’s
Orthodox Mission in Haiti.
Standing on an analogion in the middle of
the church was the parish icon of Ven. Moses the Black, beautifully
adorned with local flowers by the pious parishioners. The church was
filled to capacity with the faithful, many communed of Christ’s Holy
Mysteries.
Upon completion of the service, a moleben
was served to Ven. Moses with a procession around the church. Fr.
Gregoire greeted all those gathered and congratulated them on the
occasion of the feast.
