Reminder to all Rectors regarding Special Collection to Benefit
Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem
We remind all
parish and mission rectors and monastery abbots in the Eastern
American Diocese that, according to Conciliar decree and established
tradition, every Palm Sunday, all churches of the Russian Church
Abroad are to undertake a plate collection to benefit the Russian
Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem.
The collection may
be taken on the eve at the All-Night Vigil, as well as after the
Divine Liturgy on the day of the feast. The collection should be
preceded by a brief explanation from the rector concerning the
purpose of the collection and of the needs of the Mission.
