Jordanville, NY: On Feast of Transfiguration, Metropolitan Jonah
celebrates Liturgy in Holy Trinity Monastery
On Friday, August
19, the great feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Metropolitan
Jonah (Paffhausen; former Primate of the Orthodox Church in America)
performed an archpastoral visit to Jordanville, NY, and celebrated
Divine Liturgy in
Holy Trinity Monastery. His Eminence was co-served by the abbot, Archimandrite Luke
(Murianka), and monastery clergy.
Upon completion of
the Liturgy, Metropolitan Jonah delivered a sermon on the topic of
the feast, and then blessed fruits in the church. After the service,
a festal luncheon was offered for the brethren and guests in the
monastery refectory.
