Pochaev, Ukraine: Bishop Nicholas & Synod Youth Choir participate in
Festal Celebrations for Venerable Job of Pochaev
On
Thursday, May 19, the feast day of Ven. Job of Pochaev (+1651), a
festal Divine Liturgy was celebrated at Holy Dormition Cathedral in
Pochaev Lavra, Ukraine, as reported by the press service of the
Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
His Eminence Anthony, Metropolitan of Borispol & Brovarsk,
Chancellor of the UOC, officiated, along with His Eminence Sergiy,
Metropolitan of Ternopol & Kremenets; His Eminence Vladimir,
Metropolitan of Pochaev, Prior of the Lavra; His Eminence Alexander,
Archbishop of Gorodnitsa; His Grace Nicholas, Bishop of Manhattan
(vicar of the Eastern American Diocese), as well as a multitude of
monastery and visiting clergymen.
The Synodal Youth Choir, along with a multitude of the faithful,
gathered together under the cathedral’s vaulting domes to sing in
honor of Venerable Job. Upon completion of the Liturgy, a procession
was held with the relics of the venerable saint to the cave church,
where a moleben was served.
That evening, Bishop Nicholas, Archpriest Andrei Sommer and the
Synodal youth choir attended a youth conference at Holy Trinity-St.
Jonah Monastery.
