Guidelines for the submission of materials to the Eastern American Diocese website

1. News stories must be submitted within 72 hours of the conclusion of the event. If additional time is required it will be granted on a case by case basis, and only if prior notice is given. The website staff will publish print ready articles within 24 hours of receiving the material. Articles are considered print-ready after they have been translated into Russian or English and have been proofread for spelling and grammar. We ask authors submitting articles for publication on the Diocesan website to adhere to the following requirements: articles that require translation should not exceed 400 words; articles submitted in both languages should not exceed 1000 words.

2. Photographs will not be accepted without a short description of the event. Parishes are encouraged to write full articles however they are not required to do so.

3. Announcements regarding upcoming events may be published in the “Events” section of the site if they are received at least 7 days prior to the event. This includes parish feastdays, hierarchal visits, festivals, conferences, retreats etc.

4. Spiritual literature and sermons will be published in the “Foundations of Orthodoxy” section according to the current feast. For example, if you have an article about the feast of Transfiguration, it will be published around the time of the feastday.  We encourage parishes to publish articles on their own site and then send us a link so that we may publish the link on the diocesan site and direct readers to your parish website.

All materials are subject to approval from the diocesan administration before publication on the official website of the Eastern American Diocese. The diocesan administration reserves the right to withhold articles or photographs from publication if they are not relevant to life of the diocese. To assure faster publication, please notify the administration of an event or article before submission. E-mails will be sent to all rectors and webmasters to announce special events or publications on the diocesan site. Materials may be sent to:
