Howell, NJ: Report from the Chairperson of the EADMC to the Diocesan Council

On September 4, during the meeting of the diocesan council, a written report was presented from Elizabeth Ledkovsky, chairperson of the Eastern American Diocesan Music Commission. Council members were briefed on the following projects in the life of the music commission:

1) A regular session of the EADMC was held on July 20 in Maryland. Council members received a copy of the minutes from the meeting.

2) The online music survey has been a great success with over 130 responses received so far. The EADMC will accept online responses until September 15.

3) The EADMC is collaborating with the local choir conductor in Atlanta to prepare for the pastoral conference in that city. Divine services will be sung in Church Slavonic and English.

4) The EADMC is planning a diocesan music conference to be held in Washington, tentatively scheduled for May 2010. Further details will be published on the diocesan website as they become available.

5) The EADMC is collaborating with the diocesan media office to expand the music commission section of the diocesan website.

6) A report was heard on the life and work of music commissions in other dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad.

Member of the council expressed their gratitude to chairperson Elizabeth Ledkovsky and all the members of the music commission for their excellent work.
