Lakewood,
NJ: Parish Feast Day of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral
On Saturday, September 12, on the day of commemoration of the holy
right-believing Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky, His Grace Jerome,
Bishop of Manhattan, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Alexander
Nevsky Cathedral on the occasion of the parish feast day. Bishop
Jerome was co-served by clergy
from neighboring parishes, in the presence of many of the
faithful. During the Little Entrance, in accordance with a resolution
of the ROCOR Synod, the rector of the cathedral, Protopresbyter Valery
Lukianov, was awarded the right to wear a second cross. Bishop Jerome
also blessed Matushka Anna Lukianov, John and Nina Butenko, and Andrei
Jackamets, longtime parishioners, with gramatas thanking them for
their efforts. After the Liturgy, a crucession around the church was
held, followed by a bountiful lunchen in the church hall.
