Boston, MA: The Kursk Root Icon visited the Church of the Epiphany

On Wednesday evening, January 20, the wonder-working Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God visited the Church of the Epiphany in Boston, MA, where a moleben with akathist was served before it. The moleben was served by rector Priest Victor Boldewskul, co-served by Hieromonk Roman (Krassovsky; Jordanville – Fr. Roman brought the icon to the church), and parish clergy: Priest Thomas Reske, Protodeacon Alexander Jarostchuk, and Deacon Victor Ganson. The church was filled with the faithful, who had come on a cold night to venerate the wonder-working icon and receive a blessing from the Mother of God and ask Her prayers before Her Son. The Church of the Epiphany is home to the original copy of one of the famous Diasporan icons of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia, (painted by iconographer Nikolai A. Papkov) as well as an icon of St. Botolph of Iken, an English saint in whose honor the town of Boston, England, was named. In turn, Boston, MA, takes its name from its British cousin.
