Mayfield: The Official Opening of the Eastern American Diocesan Lenten Retreat and Pastoral Conference

On Monday, March 1, delegates from across the Eastern American Diocese gathered in St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Mayfield, PA for the official opening of the diocesan Lenten Retreat and Pastoral Conference. At 11:00 AM, diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, co-served by Deacon Nathan Mousselli (Lakewood, NJ), served a moleben before the beginning of any good work, so as to call down the grace of the Holy Spirit on our archpastors and conference delegates. After the moleben, the cathedral’s rector, His Grace, Bishop George, welcomed His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, and all of the conference delegates. Senior priest John Sorochka then delivered a greeting to all those in attendance. Him Eminence also greeted the delegates, calling upon them God’s blessings and wishing them success in the fruit-bearing work of the conference. With these words, the First Hierarch officially opened the pastoral conference.
