Utica,
New
York: An Appeal from the St. John of Kronstadt Memorial Fund
Beloved Reverend
Fathers, Brothers and Sisters,
CHRIST IS RISEN!
Standing before the
Precious Cross of Our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ, especially
during the 3rd Sunday of Great Lent and Passion Week, we are reminded
of the great pouring out of love for us on the part of Our Lord in
that He accomplished our redemption from sin and the power of the
devil. It is before the Cross that we bring our repentance for our
sins and also try to remember with gratitude all that which our Lord
grants us each day and at each hour.
We see Our Lord’s
suffering during His Crucifixion, but also we know that this sacred
event ends with His Glorious and Radiant Resurrection. Having won
victory over Hades, the Lord has opened for us the pathway to the
Kingdom of Heaven. The Cross also reminds us that we, too, are to
carry our crosses in the form of personal ascetical struggle, so as to
earn our place in the Heavenly Kingdom.
The Apostle Paul
tells us, "Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the
law of Christ" (Gal. 6:2). Our Memorial Fund of St. John of
Kronstadt has been trying to fulfill this commandment of love for well
over half a century. The Memorial Fund has been helping the needy
worldwide. We wish to thank all donors, old and new, and we hope that
you will be able to continue to perform this holy work of compassion
and help the needy.
We wish all of you
a radiant and joyous Feast of Feasts during Holy Pascha.
CHRIST IS RISEN!
INDEED HE IS RISEN!
With much love in
Our Risen Lord,
Archpriest Michael
Taratuchin
Vice President of the St. John of Kronstadt Memorial Fund
