New York: Holy Myrrhbearers Diocesan Women’s Choir is accepting new members for its 14th musical season

hmwc.lg.jpg (83547 bytes)The Holy Myrrhbearers Diocesan Women’s Choir, under director and founder Eugenia Temidis, opens its 14th musical season – singing Orthodox liturgical a cappella treble choir music at divine services and concerts in the NY metro area. At present, the HMWC boasts 15 regular members from 6 different parishes of our Diocese, as well as from 3 Orthodox parishes of other jurisdictions.

The Women’s Choir traditionally opens its membership at the start of their musical year. We welcome interested female singers of all ages, levels of experience and voice parts: Soprano I and II, Alto I and II. Rehearsals are conducted in both Russian and English. Transliterated music is available for those who do not read the Cyrillic alphabet.

Weekly rehearsals take place on Tuesdays from 7:30-9:30PM in the banquet hall of OTR AD A (385 South Pascack Road, Chestnut Ridge, NY 10977), located not far from the Convent of Novo-Diveevo. The 2010-11 Fall season begins on Tuesday, September 14th at 7:30PM with a moleben served by our Choir’s spiritual father Archpriest Mark Burachek at the Otrada chapel, followed by our first rehearsal. Dessert and tea will be offered.

Interested ladies should contact the Choir director either by email director@womenschoir.org or by phone 845-406-1194.
