Jackson, NJ: Bishop Jerome led a Panihida at the Tomb of Archbishop Nikon (Rklitsky)

anpanihida.lg.jpg (83585 bytes)On September 4, our diocese marks the 34th anniversary of the repose of the ever-memorable Archbishop Nikon (Rklitsky), formerly of Washington and Florida. On Friday evening, September 3, on the eve of the anniversary, His Grace Jerome, Bishop of Manhattan, led a panihida for Archbishop Nikon at his tomb in the lower Church of the Protection of the Mother of God at St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ. His Grace was co-served by Protopresbyter Valery Lukianov (Dean of New Jersey and rector of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Lakewood, NJ), Archpriest George Larin (rector of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY), Archpriest Alexander Golubov (cleric of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York, NY), Archpriest Philip Petrovsky (rector of Holy Virgin Protection English Mission in Jackson), Archpriest Serge Lukianov (Eastern American Diocesan secretary and rector of St. George’s Church in Howell, NJ), Priest Serge Ledkovsky (deputy rector of St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson), Deacon Nathan Mousselli (cleric of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Lakewood, NJ), and Deacon Paul Drozdowski (cleric of St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson). After the panihida, a commemorative repast was offered in the parish hall.

In connection with His Eminence’s anniversary, a new section of the website, dedicated to the memory of Archbishop Nikon, has been opened.
