Wayne, WV: Bishop George celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Christ the Savior Church

On Sunday, August 29, His Grace George, Bishop of Mayfield, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Christ the Savior Church on the occasion of its patronal feast day, the Translation of the Image "Not-Made-By-Hands" of our Lord Jesus Christ from Edessa to Constantinople. His Grace was co-served by rector Archpriest John Moses and clerics of Holy Cross Monastery Hieromonk Alexander (Frizzell), Hierodeacon Sergius (Wilson) and Deacon Jeremiah Davis.

During the Liturgy, His Grace tonsured Christophe Lepoutre a reader, ordained him a subdeacon, and then elevated him to the diaconate. The newly ordained Deacon Christophe will fulfill his service in Christ the Savior Church.

After the service, worshipers performed a procession to the new belfry, where Bishop George performed the rite of the blessing of the bells. A festal luncheon was then offered in the parish hall.
