Hartford, CT: Metropolitan Hilarion led the divine services in St. Panteleimon Church on the Feast Day of the Procession of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord

On Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th, on the feast day of the Procession of the Honorable Wood of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, paid an archpastoral visit to St. Panteleimon Church in Hartford, CT. On Tuesday, August 9, the parishioners celebrated their patronal feast day on the feast of the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon.

The parish icon with relics of Sts. Panteleimon and Hermolaus was wonderfully adorned, and the church was decorated with flowers for the feast. On Saturday evening, Metropolitan Hilarion led the All-Night Vigil with the Bringing out of the Cross, co-served by Archpriest Andrei Semyanko (rector of the Church of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple in Stratford, CT), parish rector Priest Dionysy Nalitov, and Deacon Andrei Psarev (cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY).

On Sunday morning, the ROCOR First Hierarch celebrated the Divine Liturgy, co-served by the rector and Fr. Andrei Psarev. During the Small Entrance, for his ardent 14-year service to the Holy Church, the Metropolitan elevated Fr. Dionysy to the rank of archpriest.

The marvelous services to the Cross were accompanied by the beautiful singing of the parish choir, directed by N.A. Semyanko. Upon completion the Liturgy, His Eminence performed the rite of the Lesser Blessing of the Water, and a delicious lenten luncheon was then offered by the sisterhood in the parish hall.
