Howell, NJ: An Announcement from the Diocesan Office on the 75th
anniversary of the repose of Metropolitan Antony (Khrapovitsky)
Reverend
Fathers, dear in the Lord brothers and sisters!
Wednesday, August 10 of this year, the feast of the Smolensk Icon of
the Mother of God, will mark the 75th anniversary of the repose of
His Beatitude, the ever-memorable Metropolitan Antony
(Khrapovitsky), the first in the line of First Hierarchs of the
Russian Church Abroad.
I hereby recommend that, in all churches of the Eastern American
Diocese, the memory of Metropolitan Antony be honored by special
prayerful commemoration on that day during the Great Entrance of the
Divine Liturgy and on a Litany for the Departed after it, prefaced
by an instruction on the day’s significance. In churches where the
Liturgy will not be served on August 10, the commemoration should
take place on Sunday, August 7.
Let us pray for the repose of the soul of the ever-memorable
Metropolitan Antony with love and gratitude for his long-suffering
service to our Church Abroad in the very hardest years of the 20th
century.
May the Lord grant rest to the soul of the ever-memorable
Metropolitan Antony!
