Tampa, FL: The First Hierarch of ROCOR and the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA concelebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Gregory’s Church

On Monday, June 6, at the invitation of the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Eminence Justinian, Archbishop of Naro-Fominsk, the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Gregory Theologian Church in Tampa, FL, while paying an archpastoral visit to parishes of the Eastern American Diocese in Florida. The hierarchs were co-served by a multitude of clergy from the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and the Russian Church Abroad.

During the Liturgy, Archbishop Justinian tonsured longtime St. Gregory’s parish acolyte Maxim Kasiatori a reader.

Upon completion of the divine service, Archbishop Justinian greeted the First Hierarch, expressing his gratitude for the joy of their joint prayer in the church. Archbishop Justinian also presented Metropolitan Hilarion with a collection of icons belonging to ROCOR, which at one time were given over by one priest to the temporary custody of the rector of St. Gregory’s Church in Tampa, Archpriest Steven Sunderland.

In turn, the First Hierarch thanked Archbishop Justinian for his invitation to concelebrate the Liturgy, and expressed his appreciation to Fr. Steven and Matushka Justina for preserving the holy icons entrusted to them.
