South Carolina: 16th annual joint Divine Liturgy at Cheraw State Park

The annual joint Divine Liturgy and picnic of ROCOR parishes in North and South Carolina took place under beautiful skies at Cheraw State Park. This year, the Divine Liturgy was concelebrated by Archpriest Alexander Davydov (rector of Holy Trinity Church in Mebane, NC), Archpriest Anastasy Yatrelis (rector of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church in Summerville, SC), Archpriest Onouphry Keith (rector of Saint Nicholas Church in Fletcher, NC), and Priest Alexander Logunov (rector of the Reigning Mother of God Church in Charlotte, NC). A joint choir of the four parishes sang the service in Church Slavonic, English, and Greek. In his homily, Fr. Anastasy outlined the Christian goal of sanctity, as exemplified in the life of St Dionysius the Areopagite, whose memory was being celebrated. Fr. Alexander Davydov preached on the importance of love, brotherhood, and fellowship, so keenly manifested in this event that brings together the faithful from afar every year. Following the Divine Liturgy, parishioners of the four parishes enjoyed a picnic, fellowship, and sailing on the beautiful lake.
