New Brunswick, NJ: The Patronal Feast Day of Holy Virgin Protection Church

On Friday, October 14, on the feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, a festal Divine Liturgy was celebrated in Holy Virgin Protection Church in New Brunswick, NJ, on the occasion of the patronal feast day. Diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov celebrated the Divine Liturgy, co-served by parish rector Priest Leonid Goferman, Priest Vadim Arefiev (rector of the Church of Our Lady "The Inexhaustible Chalice" in Brooklyn, NY), and Deacon Leonid Roschko (cleric of St. George’s Church in Howell, NJ).

Many guests from local parishes were in attendance for the feast. The festal service concluded with a procession around the church and a moleben with a kneeling prayer to the Most Holy Virgin Theotokos. Fr. Serge passed along the congratulations and well-wishes of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, and the diocesan administration to the rector and parishioners. After the service, guests were invited to a festal luncheon prepared by the sisterhood.
