Howell, NJ: A Message from the Diocesan Office concerning the
upcoming 3rd Annual Synod Youth Symposium
Dear
in the Lord Reverend Fathers, brothers and sisters in Christ,
With the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, on
Saturday, October 15, the Synodal Youth Department is organizing the
3rd Annual Synod Youth Symposium, entitled "Missionary Work: In the
Footsteps of St. Innocent of Moscow." The symposium will be
conducted in English and will be held at the Synodal Cathedral of
Our Lady of the Sign in New York City. The keynote speaker will be
Hieromonk Cyprian (Alexandrou), Dean of Students at Holy Trinity
Seminary in Jordanville, NY. The symposium will feature a moleben
before the relics of St. Innocent of Moscow, interactive workshops,
a barbeque, and an All-Night Vigil sung by the youth.
This is an excellent and unique opportunity for all the youth of the
Eastern American Diocese to pray before the relics of St. Innocent
and interact with fellow Orthodox youth under the auspices of the
Church. Rectors are encouraged to promote this symposium in their
parishes by printing out the
attached flier and distributing it to their young parishioners.
The first two symposia organized by the Synodal Youth Committee were
a great success, and we are certain that, with God’s help, this
upcoming symposium will be spiritually beneficial for our young
people.
