Fund for Assistance Awards Grant to
Volunteers in Mission Program
The Fund for Assistance to ROCOR has approved a financial aid grant of
$3,000.00 for the upcoming Volunteers in Mission (VIM) project to Haiti
on April 25-May 5. The grant will be used to help cover some of the
expenses for volunteers associated with the trip.

On Sunday, February 9, His Grace, Bishop Jerome, visited St. Michael’s
Cathedral in Paterson, NJ and led the divine services on the Sunday of
the Holy New Martyrs & Confessors of Russia. Before the start of
service, Bishop Jerome baptized Ariadna, the newborn daughter of
Jonathan and Svetlana Glacken.

Patronal Feast Day of Holy New Martyrs Church
On Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of February, the Sunday of the
Holy New Martyrs & Confessors of Russia, parishioners of Holy New
Martyrs Church in Brooklyn, NY marked their patronal feast day. Clerics
from neighboring parishes came and joined their brother clergy, jointly
serving the All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy.
Media Office Releases New Film about 2013
St. Herman Youth Conference
On Thursday, February 6, the Media Office of the Eastern American
Diocese released a new English-language film about the 2013 St. Herman
Youth Conference, which was held on Long Island, NY. The 13-minute film,
entitled "Arming our Youth for Spiritual Battle," discusses the
significance of such conferences in the lives of our youth.
Archimandrite Ambrose (Yurasov) visited the
Eastern American Diocese
With the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, the Eastern
American Diocese recently hosted a dear guest from Russia –
Archimandrite Ambrose (Yurasov). The visitation was initiated at the
invitation of Archpriest Victor Potapov, who hosted Fr. Ambrose in
Washington from January 23-25.

In light of the violence and civil unrest in Kiev and throughout
Ukraine, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence,
Metropolitan Hilarion, issued the following call for peace and calm:

Washington, DC: Church Life in St. John the
Life in the parish of St. John the Baptist in January was particularly
eventful. Divine services for Nativity and Theophany attracted a great
multitude of the faithful. Now, although the Feast of the Baptism of the
Lord has passed, the five parish priests continue to make Theophany
visits to the homes of parishioners.
Volunteers in Mission Project Planned for
With the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, a
Volunteers in Mission (VIM)
project has been set for Jacmel, Haiti, from April 25 to May 5. The
project will be run by Archpriest John Moses (VIM founder and rector of
Holy Myrrhbearers Church in Harrisonburg, VA).
